CZ-USA Shadow 2 Disruptive Grey Pistol 9mm 17 RD Blue Grips, The full-size CZ-USA Shadow 2 hammer-fired semi-automatic competition gun evolves and improves upon the CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow competition pistol, itself based on the famous and very popular CZ 75 hammer-fired semi-automatic. CZ-USA’s Czech CZ parent company has formulated this rather brilliant 9×19 mm / 9×21 mm gun whose capacity is 19+1 or 10+1, depending on the magazine(s) used.
Other dimensions? Barrel: 4.7”, height: 6.2”, width: 1.4”, overall length: 8.5”. Weight comes in at 46.8 ounces.
The Shadow 2 was evolved in consultation with the CZ Shooting Team and leverages the newest precision manufacturing processes and robot machinery. Now it’s a lineup of five reliable, all-steel, large-capacity guns designed for IPSC and other competition shooting. Naturally, they are multi-purpose for self-defense, etc., too.
Key traits include the fiber optic front sight, advanced trigger, grip checkering, Duralumin grips, adjustable magazine release button, a longer sight radius, an ergonomically contoured upper rear grip and a wider than usual shelf on the thumb safety in back. They also have a long accessory rail under the recoil spring housing, squared trigger guard, nicely upturned beavertail and short diagonal slide serrations at front and back.
The front fiber optic sight is dovetailed and pinned into place. The fiber optic tube is 1.0 mm in diameter. The cut down rear visor sight merits comment. It’s fully adjustable for height and windage. Weight is negligible as it comes in at 7/10s of an ounce. The parcel shelf design also extends the sight radius for more accurate shooting.
There are essentially three “base” (if such a term can be applied to an upscale precision arm) models that vary only in color. A fourth is single-action (SA) only. Then there is the fifth, which is the ultimate model that surpasses the others with an optical plate and cut atop the slide.
The three color variants are CZ Shadow 2 Black and Blue, CZ Shadow 2 Orange, and CZ Shadow 2 Urban Gray. The first model has blue Duralumin grips against a background of matte black everything else. The next is the same, but with an almost golden orange Duralumin grips. Then the Urban Gray model has a gray frame, slide, etc., but with matte black Duralumin grips.
